Simple one this - VideoGaiden.
If you’ve absolutely no idea what I’m talking about, have a look here.
It’s by the same guys behind Consolevania, but with a bigger budget (oh, and the BBC give them three episodes that actually appear on your telly box that sits in your living room).
Quite possibly the best video game show since GamesMaster, Fat Rab and Ryan speak more sense about games than every other piece of crap magazine and/or blog out there - you must watch their stuff!
Good Lord, I’m such a geek.
Good meeting.
For some reason I’ve recently (when I’ve had the time) got back into trying some of the old Amiga games.
I’d forgotten how difficult, at the time anyway, games like Treasure Island Dizzy and Batman: The Movie actually were - I suppose it’s because so many games that come out now are ridiculously simple.
People are desperately trying to get hold of the Wii in time for Christmas, but I can’t help but feel that might be a little disappointed when they get one. I’m lucky in the sense that I got mine when it came out last year, but there isn’t a whole ton of games that are must-haves - the only titles springing to mind are Super Mario Galaxy and Resident Evil 4.
That said, I can only applaud Nintendo for doing something different - and by Christ it’s obviously worked, as I’ve been reading that it’s getting increasingly difficult to get hold of a DS as well!
I can’t even begin to imagine how the Wii will be topped for innovation - perhaps through some sort of telepathic control scheme.
I’m sure THAT would prove popular!
I, by my own admission, am a massive dork.
So you can only imagine my excitement at the news of a new Ghostbusters game coming out towards the end of next year - I’m like a bloody child!
I’ve never been able to fully explain why I enjoy everything Ghostbusters (I’ve just finished watching Ghostbusters II for about the 12th time at least), but I do know that it is a little on the disturbing side.
That said I also have affection for the Back To The Future films (understandable), and, for some strange reason, Willow (I fucking love Warwick Davis - the tiny bastard).
I’ll leave you with a couple of shots of what will be the greatest game ever made.
Goodbye.
